Our headquarter - at ARK - is in the old Vama Bucuresti-Antrepozite (also the location of the former Bursa Marfurilor / Commodities Stock Exchange), an historical bulding that belongs to late 19th Century Industrial architecture, a style little
represented in Romania.
The building complex illustrates the harmony between Giulio Magni’s national
Italian style and the technical and functional solutions introduced by the
innovative Alfred Saligny, a pioneer in the engineering of that period. The
only part left from the former Bursa Marfurilor is
the facade. The restoration plan for the building was born out of the wish to
salvage the remaining parts and the need for a reconversion of what is current.
ARK currently accommodates a few companies that are active in fields which have as a common denominator creativity, communication and the visual. The large surface area and the potential of the building land around constitute the premises for it to become a new center of interest in Bucharest, where business and art coexist and latest hi-tech trends blend with 19th century industrial architecture.
