Rowmania is an initiative with the main goal of promoting the tourism with row boats in Romania.

Created around the multiple Olympic champion Ivan Patzaichin, the Rowmania concept benefits from the knowledge of an interdisciplinary group of Romanian specialists with international experience in fields like fashion and product design, communication, production, social entrepreneurship.

Rowmania is set to support and develop programs in slow experience tourism (based on nature and culture) through encouraging the use of row boats in ecotourism and leisure activities.

In order to achieve its objectives, Rowmania wishes to introduce Romanian innovations in the development of products and services that are custom to the row boat tourism, such as: row boat and accessories, garments and fashion accessories, ecotourism services in the Danube Delta and other natural areas.

Rowmania wishes to become a Romanian brand with global awareness that will promote Romania, ecotourism and Romanian leisure activities with the row boat.

Rowmania is set to encourage and support the rediscovery of outdoor recreation and tourism, especially in the Danube Delta, by making use of the sustainable development principles:

• protecting the natural silence value;
• effective protection of the environment;
• conserving the environmental and biodiversity resources;
• rational utilization of the natural resources;
• supporting the economic growth and reduction in unemployment;
• social progress, based on recognising the indivuals’ needs.

As a consequence, in order to support its services, Rowmania will focus its activities on developing the local infrastructure and social capital. In addition, the projects will protect, promote and support the development of the natural, historic, archeological and cultural heritage.

The developed products will use as much as possible local or national resources and techniques, thus contributing to the economical and social development. In this regard, the Rowmania concept is developed by the Ivan Patzaichin Mila 23 Association – Romanian non-profit organization started by Ivan Patzaichin.
